Crocosmia Buttercup, also known as Montbretia. A clump forming cormous perennial with upright lance shaped leaves and upright stems bearing stunning yellow flower with rounded petals. Grow in edge of shrub border, mixed border or up against a wall in a border. Flowers June to August.
Crocosmia Buttercup is hardy and is excellent for a late summer of colour. Plant in full sun in a well drained soil. The name Crocosmia originates from the greek works for safron (Krokos) and smell (osme) because when rubbed the leaves smell of Safron! Native to Africa these plants have large attractive flowers and are hardy, they can be grown in a patio pot or border
