Plant Information

Cirsium rivulare Atropurpureum is a clump forming hardy perennial which produces a semi evergreen rosette of thistle like foliage and all Summer long masses of deep crimson thistle like flowers held on stems to 1.2m high are produced. These can be used for cutting

Cirsium rivulare Atropurpureum looks a bit like a thistle, however this variety is almost sterile and so doesn't set seed and spread around the garden - it is contained in its clump.
