Patersonia occidentalis is an elegant member of the Iris family which originates in western Australia . A tuft forming perennial with upright, evergreen sword shaped leaves up to 40cm long, in Spring and Summer purple flowers 3cm across are borne on upright stems 50cm high which carry a succession of flowers on each stem.
Patersonia occidentalis is a rarely seen plant that performs well in the front of a border. Needs to be planted in a free draining soil in full sun - may need protection in cold winters or areas.
